The 97-year-old Peer has been living on his run-down farm in Brabant for 50 years. He keeps out the outside world, but does not turn away the filmmaker. A subdued portrait.

The 97-year-old farmer Peer has been living alone on his farm in Brabant for more than fifty years. His homestead is just as old and worn-out as its occupant. Peer leads a life devoid of luxury. With a hunched back and only a few cows in the stable, he keeps slogging away. He usually keeps out the outside world, but the visiting filmmaker seems to arouse his interest. Who is Peer and what are his thoughts and feelings? He cautiously talks about the past, his parents and the war.
