Dramatised biography of Dutch poet Jan Arends (1925-1974).
Dramatised biography of Jan Arends (1925-1974), a Dutch poet who ended his life in 1974 by jumping out of the window of his room in Amsterdam's Roelof Hartplein, plagued by depression. The film starts in the year before his death and looks back on his life as we witness his mental degeneration. Using flashbacks, we see the time he spent in psychiatric institutions and his activities as copywriter at an advertising agency. Until we eventually find ourselves at the moment of his birth.
