Young lawyer gets caught up in a moral dilemma.
Feature based on the volume from A.F.Th. van der Heijden's novel cycle De tandeloze tijd situated in the mid-eighties. Advocaat van de hanen tells the story of a young Amsterdam lawyer. He seems to be doing well but is occasionally felled by an inescapable urge to drink. During one of his delirious nights out, he witnesses the death of a squatter at police headquarters. He wonders whether he should risk his career by telling the truth.
