You can also use adhesive tape to make movies. Like this one, where scanned images of pieces of sticky tape – complete with marks and imprints – are used to make dazzling images.
Hyperactive blots, stripes and smudges: this is where the emphasis lies in this dazzling, experimental film, with a hypnotising score by sound artist Michel Banabila and violinist/composer Oene van Geel. The film was made with scanned images of transparent adhesive tape. The traces, marks and imprints on the tape were scanned and processed into an animated, colourful series of frames. Through the energetic abstract images, people shimmer: slow-motion footage of people on a train platform.
