Affectionate, magic-realistic family drama set on Curacao. The strong-willed Kenza (11) threatens to get entangled in the clashing ways of life of her rational father and spiritual grandfather.
Kenza (11) lives on a wrecker’s yard in the interior of Curacao with her father Ouira and grandpa Weljo. The two men are poles apart: Ouira is a stone-sober policeman, Weljo, on the other hand, identifies with the native people and the spirituality of the island. The strong-willed Kenza tries to find her own way between these extremes, who clash more and more often. For this magic-realistic family drama, director Eché Janga, who wrote the screenplay with Esther Duysker, found his inspiration in a local saga.
