Zonder Zelda

Director: Maarten Treurniet
In Zonder Zelda, barge skipper Wander (played by Jaap Spijkers) looks back on his first love for his classmate Zelda. Zelda had just turned fourteen, when she joined Wander's class. Zelda was more grown up than the other girls, almost a woman. And Wander was her opposite in every respect. Yet he is the only boy the inaccessible girl lets anywhere near her. She can be a child again with him. The reason becomes clear when Wander makes a shocking discovery and what he does forces his girlfriend to move. Since then he has never seen her again. Until she suddenly turns up in a TV programme. A film in which the landscape of the Dutch rivers plays a major part.
