In this documentary, enthusiastic lateral-entry teachers with big ideals struggle with maintaining order in the classroom, work stress and disillusions. Will their dreams come true, after all?
Hospitality industry tycoon Michel decides to follow his heart and is retrained to become a primary school teacher. The same applies to a planner in healthcare, an ING employee and someone working at ProRail. They may be the perfect answer to the ever increasing teacher shortage. Meanwhile, these participants in a crash course in Amsterdam contend with active, boisterous and challenging groups of pupils, but in touching ways they also make contact with them. At the same time, this documentary shows how that one teacher can really make a difference.
