Zie, Zo

Director: Kris van Melle
When the tough, newly short-haired Juul visits her mother’s photo exhibition, she’s confronted by a girly portrait she no longer recognises herself in. Of all the photos, why that one?!
While the first guests begin to arrive downstairs for her mother’s photo exhibition, 14-year-old Juul decides it’s high time for a new look. With a freshly self-cut short hairdo, she braves the exhibition – only to discover that her mother has chosen to display the most girly picture of her. Kris van Melle’s graduation film explores the gap between how we see ourselves and how others see us. Juul’s mother only wants her daughter to show what a beautiful girl she is. But how do you tell your mother she’s got it all wrong?
