Experimental black-and-white triptych about the director's childhood memories, made in collaboration with composer Louis Andriessen, whose musical drawings inspired the images, which in turn motivated the music.
Triptych, based on childhood memories of director Anna Lange. Xenia started with fantasy cards of landscapes. On these cards, composer Louis Andriessen drew 'routes', while thinking about music compositions. These routes inspired Lange to create her imagery: a black-and-white film in three parts, with close-ups of animals and a play of light and shadow. On the basis of these images, Andriessen went on to compose his definitive score.
