Short silent film in which a housemaid steals a necklace from the lady of the house. Her lover, the butler, takes the blame for it and goes to jail. The maid soon gets engaged with the new butler. Her former lover escapes prison, but when he visits his girl she gives him up to the police. When five years later the girl is about to marry the second butler, the jilted lover bumps into the couple.
