Portrait of auspicious violin talent Rosanne Philippens. Shortly after her splendid graduation from the music academy, she is the soloist in a tour by the Nederlands Studenten Orkest. They perform Saint Saëns' violin concerto on ten successive nights in ten places, with the closing night in the grand hall of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. The film was made within the scope of the Wildcard programme of the Dutch Film Fund, giving budding documentary-makers a license for a new project. Carine Bijlsma won the Wildcard in 2008 for her graduation film Het geheim van Boccherini, in which Philippens also featured. In this new portrait, it is obvious the two know each other by the access to all areas that Bijlsma gets. We share in Philippens' self-assurance on stage, and her doubts off stage: about her performance, her violin, her role in the orchestra and her relationship with the Italian Emiliano, who plays the flute in the orchestra.
