In the shadow of the feared 'millennium bug', a Surinamese family celebrates New Year’s Eve 1999. They find out that having tough conversations and facing your fears can lead to a fresh start.
It is 1999. In this graduation film, a Surinamese family gathers to celebrate New Year’s Eve according to tradition. While in the background they are mourning their deceased (grand)mother, the four relatives all have their individual hang-ups. Mina wants to capture the others in her drawings, Dora wants to be in charge, Cato wants to go over the documents to be able to sell the house and Winnie wants to tell everyone he no longer wants to celebrate New Year’s Eve with them, especially because the Apocalypse is imminent. As the clock ticks towards midnight, a mysterious crack in the wall gradually grows larger.
