Breakdance collective 155 embarks on a long motorcycle journey through several African countries, transforming the overload of impressions into movement. The result is both a road movie and a dance film.
A group of dancing motorcyclists – or motor-riding dancers – travel from Utrecht to Accra, Ghana. A journey of thousands of kilometres, with new impressions around every bend – too many to take in, too many to process. This travelogue begins when they have reached North Africa. Breakdance collective 155 transforms their sense of alienation and inspiration into short dance scenes, with the camera serving as an integral part of the movement. Meanwhile, Joost Prinsen reads fragments from their travel diaries in the voice-over.
