Documentary about the German-born Rotterdam-based artist Anne Wenzel. She is followed while sculpting the four-metre-tall Razzia Monument. Meanwhile, the so-called 'German collective guilt' weighs down on her.
The originally German fine artist Anne Wenzel, who lives in Rotterdam, does not give a rip about conventions and the rigid rules of the museum world. In this documentary, filmmaker Charlotte Meijer follows Wenzel when she starts sculpting the Razzia Monument. During eighteen months, she regularly films the artist, so not only do we witness the creation of the artwork, but we also get to know the artist’s motivations. The fact that, being German, she constantly lives with a latent feeling of guilt, hones her struggle and lends her work a deeper meaning.
