In a young woman’s daily life, the line between observing and being observed begins to blur: conversations feel like scenes, and memories like fragments from a prewritten script.
Two young women talk about intimacy, growing up, watching and being watched. The feeling of always being judged, even during intimate moments. Graduating director Melody Neneh Sigmond also emphasizes the artificial nature of the situation. We see storyboards, a performance, a hall full of spectators. But slowly, one of the two manages to let go. The people disappear, she paints over the storyboards. In the auditorium, only a small girl remains, a version of herself that does not judge, but is completely absorbed in her own world. Braids become a metaphor for innocence and the desire to reclaim oneself.
