Social drama taking place in a sordid industrial setting in a Belgian hamlet. For twentyfour hours, the film follows the vicissitudes of four old acquaintances - two couples - who are confronted with each other again on a fair after many years. The renewed encounter releases some strong emotions, like in the case of bar owner Charel (Jan Decleir), whose young wife Monique falls in love again with her ex-husband, who is also the father of her child.
