At what price will folk singer Mart Hoogkamer’s dream come true? Mart’s success influences not only his father, but also his younger brother Luciano.

Mart Hoogkamer, the folk singer from Leiden, has only one dream: to become as big as André Hazes. It’s obvious where that dream comes from. Father Mart senior once had a record contract, but his career fell to pieces. While Mart reaps successes, his little brother Luciano and his father also seek recognition. Mart decides it is time for a new phase in his life. Developed within the framework of the Film Fund Wildcard that Arjen Sinninghe Damsté (Cannabis) won with his graduation film De nieuwe man.
