In Urban Surface, we see a cinematic city by night, as it is when no one is moving through the image. Empty spaces - film décors that suggest locations where action takes place, the moment just before or after the event. Nothing is happening. Well, actually, a tree is rustling diligently in the wind. The street lighting is doing its job. A newspaper is being blown across the pavement.
