A young Turk with a Flemish girlfriend is confronted in both his and her family with hypocrisy and prejudice. A warm and intimate portrait of people looking for a home.

Intimate family film holds up a mirror to both the Flemish and Turkish communities. After their father’s funeral in Istanbul, Timur (28) and his brothers Ediz (36) and Bora (16) return to Ghent. The three have to find a new balance. Ediz plays the dominant father and Bora gets into bad ways. Timur, meanwhile, realises his father’s dream: playing the trumpet in a brass band. This makes his Belgian girlfriend disappear from sight.
