No word of a lie: people from all walks of life own up to their lies, big or small, in front of the camera. From white lies to blatant untruths. How does this affect them – and the viewer?
An honest mosaic documentary about the human inclination to lie. In this debut film, a diverse group of people share their lies, small or big. White lies, necessary lies, or lies to protect oneself or someone else. But also lies that cause pain and are hard to forgive or forget. When does lying turn toxic; where do we draw the line? And what do feelings of shame and guilt do to the liar him- or herself? By exploring this thin and subjective line, the film invites viewers to put their own relationship with lying under the microscope.
