A moving short documentary about the life shared by a man and his ailing wife, who he has been caring for for nearly seven years. When the man’s own health starts to falter, the question arises: How much longer can he keep going?
In their home next to the lighthouse of IJmuiden, Tom (72) cares with immense dedication for his wife Jantje (66), who has been bedridden since a stroke nearly seven years ago. As Tom becomes increasingly absorbed by caring for Jantje, his own health begins to decline. The question they have long avoided becomes ever more pressing: What will happen if Tom can no longer take care of her? A documentary about the burden of care and the resilience of two people who bear everything together.
