Commissioned by the Hart van Brabant Lions Club, Joost Seelen made a portrait of Tilburg. This jubilee project was intended to reveal the soul of Tilburg. The sixth Dutch city with about 195.000 inhabitants is shown at length. In a series of portraits providing a cross section of the local population, people from Tilburg say what they think of their fellows and the city. The inhabitants sketch a portrait of what is special, typical, what links them and the contrasts of people in Tilburg and their society. In this way locals and immigrants, the wealthy and poor, middle class and business people, young and old provide their opinions on a variety of issues from the present and past. It provides a cinematographic mosaic, a richly variegated picture of Tilburgers.
