An experimental short film about a post-Yugoslavian generational curse that manifests itself time and again – from German building sites in the 1960s to modern migrations in darkened BMWs.
In this graduation film, a whispering voice tells about a generational curse of melancholia, connected to former Yugoslavia. The voice reverberates as a song from the concrete building sites of the 1960s in Western Europa. In the musical vibrations, the collective pain resounds of Yugoslavian ‘Gastarbeiter’ and their endless departures from home. The same song blares from an obscured BMW, while the young diaspora generation flees south in summer.A short experimental film interweaving myths, dreams and memories. The film combines the immaterial heritage of the western Balkan with speculative fiction.
