Daniel’s life is not a bed of roses, but using his vivid imagination he pulls through. And with the help of you, his imaginary friend.
Eight-year-old Daniel recently lost his mother. In this surrealist VR story, you are a witness to his overactive imagination and his fight against the demons inside his head. He is positive the Kill Ghosts are out to get him. To fend them off, he invents... YOU. But the more he asks you to help him conquer his anxieties, the more the outside world thinks Daniel has grown mad. The Imaginary Friend, which you experience from the perspective of you as a made-up helper, is an empathetic experience involving faith in the impossible and the magic of fantasy. The work had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival and now has its Dutch première at the Netherlands Film Festival.
