Experimental collage film, compiled from archive footage, about a man plagued by fever dreams, with visions haunted by epidemics, wars, natural disasters and false prophets. These are prompted by a malicious egg.
Influenced by the final Bible book The Revelation of John, the Amsterdam-based collective Wanderwelle (consisting of Alexander Bartels and Phil van Dulm) made a collage film presenting a man who is plagued by fever dreams about the end of time. By taking the source material, coming from the collection of Eye Filmmuseum, and cutting and manipulating it with digital (animation) techniques, and by adding sound design and music, they created a new narrative chockfull of symbolic references. The grainy aspect and sombre images of the film emphasise the protagonist’s existential fear.
