The Baby Of Macon

Director: Peter Greenaway
The story of the creation and martyrdom of a child saint in the cathedral city of Macon in the 1650's. The child is exploited for gain, first by the child's sister in her bid to impersonate the virgin Mary, and then by the Church to secure valuable relics. The story is being told on the basis of a complicated plot, whereby it is difficult to tell who's integrity is at stake and who doesn't have integrity at all.
