Poignant portrait of the two unaccompanied minor foreign nationals Issa and Hamidie. From one day to the next, they have to be grown-ups in a strange country: the Netherlands.
At the age of sixteen, Issa flees the war in Syria, without his parents. In the Netherlands, he finds a new home in the shelter for unaccompanied minors in Amsterdam. After more than a year, Issa turns 18 and legally adult. This documentary shows how at that moment he loses all support and is transferred to an unknown town. For his best friend Hamidie, his 18th birthday is also imminent. What is the impact of this drastic change?
