Teledoc Campus - Identity not Detected

Director: Kas Schrader
How does the Dutch asylum system treat you if you're queer? Five trans and non-binary immigrants try to shed light on their experiences in the Netherlands, reclaiming their own identities — if only for a moment.
In this creative documentary debut, five trans and non-binary immigrants – working with a queer film crew – use writing, re-enactment and film to explore what the Dutch asylum system does to a person. At the heart of the IND (Immigration and Naturalisation Service) process lies a single question: who are you? But how do you answer that when identity isn't fixed, but fluid, personal and constantly shifting? Especially when it's exactly that hard-to-define identity that determines whether you're granted asylum or turned away. Moving between fiction, documentary and the filmmaking process itself, a collective portrait emerges — one of queer migration, prejudice, safety, and the fight to define yourself on your own terms.
