What if you look at yourself in the mirror and you always see someone who looks monstrously ugly? Filmmaker Niek Silvan is weighed down under Body Dysmorphic Disorder, the superlative of a negative self-image.
Director Niek Silvan was diagnosed with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), the most serious form of a negative self-image. Looking for answers to the question how he can learn to live with himself, Niek launches a search for the boy he saw on TV once seventeen years ago. At the time, this kid called Jesse candidly talked about his affliction in an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show.
