This drama unfolds in and around a bustling hair salon, where Chyna works alongside her sisters. She's the neighbourhood's favourite stylist. She's also in a relationship with Raoul, the man everyone seems to fall for. But in his case, appearances are deceiving. When Raoul becomes increasingly violent, Chyna decides she must leave him, together with her baby, Sugar. With her debut feature film, director Amira Duynhouwer portrays the vicious cycle of violence against women behind closed doors, repeating itself from generation to generation.
