Documentary road movie about the threatened library bus, the travelling library that offers villagers in the North East Polder literature, plus a social meeting place.
Since 1962, the vast landscape of the Northeast Polder has been traversed by a mobile library, once intended for housebound women who lived with their husbands in remote villages, deprived of every form of culture. Now, the library bus threatens to disappear. This polder chronicle brings the merits of the regional novel to the limelight, making the crucial role of culture tangible, as a lubricant for social cohesion and identity.
