When her grandmother decides to end her life, Suus becomes overwhelmed by the helplessness this decision awakens in her. She does want to support her, just not lose her.
Suus shares a strong bond with her grandmother Bea (85). They see each other often and share a passion for painting. But Bea has made a decision: she wants to end her life through euthanasia. How Suus copes with this decision is at the heart of this short coming-of-age film, Melissa Halmingh’s graduation project. Suus wants to support her grandmother, but she’s not yet ready to lose her. Slowly, she begins to lose control and becomes entangled in a deep sense of helplessness. How can Suus reconcile these conflicting emotions?
