‘With all due respect, but you don’t have a clue as to why I do this.’ In her intimate graduation documentary, director Nina Suijkerbuijk confronts the viewer with her complex relationship with her elder sister Julia. While the passionate show wrestler Julia shines in the ring, Nina struggles with her own concerns about the world her sister so whole-heartedly embraces. But how do you truly make someone feel seen when you're worried yourself? And is Nina's plan to understand her sister better by making a documentary really as effective as she hopes?
This film is part of the NFF Studentencompetitie and nominated for the VPRO-documentaireprijs 2025. The winner will be announced on Monday, September 29th, during the Talent Awards Ceremony at the Stadsschouwburg Utrecht.
