Spiegelbezoek is a poem that Vroman published in Holland soon after he moved in 1998 from the American East Coast - where the couple had lived for almost fifty years - to Forth Worth, Texas. It is literally a notice of life. In the film the then 83-year old poet and former biologist is visited by musician and film composer Henny Vrienten. He wants to record a CD of Vroman's heart-rending poems. Hans Keller filmed the encounter and also made a personal portrait in which the poet also recites his own work.
