Adapted from the true story of the Belgian nun Jeanine Deckers (1933-1985), who became a big star in 1961. She composes the song Dominique and it becomes a world hit. But the church uses her to revive its declining image. Fortified by her success, the nun abandons her convent life and tries her fortune. The film portrays the sixties through this most unlikely of superstars.
