In the very first real-time documentary, you follow the WhatsApp conversation 'live' between two Dutch documentary makers and 15-year-old Afghan refugee SK, who threads his way through Europe.
In September 2019, directors Eefje Blankevoort and Els van Driel met the 15-year-old Afghan Sajid Khan (SK) in Greece. He would become one of the protagonists of the award-winning documentary Shadow Game, clinching the 2021 Golden Calf for Best Full-Length Documentary. At the time, SK was about to start a long and arduous ramble across Europe. For eighteen months, the makers maintained close contact with him via WhatsApp. Now, in SneakPeek: Shadow Game, viewers can precisely follow the things they shared over that period. An intimate journey through the shady side of Europe, confronting the viewer with ethical dilemmas.
