Skin Beneath Sand

Director: Katy Alberdingk Thijm
Two young women are lying on an empty beach, where a silent battle ensues. Boundaries between tenderness and aggression, jealousy and admiration fade in a choreography, shot in black and white.
On a hot summer day, Agnes and Elena are lying on an empty beach, where the loose sand, the water and the wind prevail. Gradually, the sharp sea breeze exposes the colder sides of their usually warm bond. In a silent battle, the boundaries between tenderness and aggression as well as jealousy and admiration fade, while nature and emotion merge symbiotically. The two young women play a mute game of attraction and repulsion, in this stylish black-and-white debut.
