Social-realist drama in which a nurse from a London suburb contends with the consequences of a traumatic event in her childhood. Will she manage to come to grips with her past?
Nurse Franky is weighed down under a traumatic event in her childhood. When she falls in love with one of her patients, they move from her London suburb to the coast together, where Franky finds a safe haven in her lover’s composite family. For this social-realist drama, Sacha Polak (Dirty God) once more worked with actress Vicky Knight, on whose life Polak based her script. As an eight-year-old girl, Knight survived a fire in which she suffered serious burns.
