Filmmaker Biserka Šuran takes her father along on a symbolical road trip back to former Yugoslavia. While looking for answers in a long forgotten past, she unravels an underlying family trauma.
In a deserted factory, a father and his filmmaking daughter symbolically travel back to former Yugoslavia. In the process, this documentary reflects their memories in cinematic stage sets, personal letters and archive footage. Together, they discuss sometimes uneasy and sometimes delicate themes like nationality, identity, love, dreams and regrets. This enables them to finally share the memories that long remained unspoken. Moreover, this personal and intimate journey gives them insight in the traumatic impact the forced migration had on their family.
