Video diary by actress Tamar van den Dop about the making of Frouke Fokkema's autobiographical feature De omweg, provides insight to a quest for her own role.
Video diary about the making of Frouke Fokkema's autobiographical feature De omweg. The film is about Joanna, a young woman who tried to find happiness with a writer in Austria. Tamar van der Dop plays the role of Joanna. Fascinated by the double layers of her character - she directs her own character and plays in an autobiographical film - Van der Dop wanted to record the process of making the film. With a video camera bought especially for the occasion, on location in Austria and France, she records her talks with the director and writer Frouke Fokkema, shoots on the set and tells her own camera about the uncertainties that dog her. These images are juxtaposed with scenes from the film De omweg. In this way she undertakes a quest for her own role.
