Vietnamese voices, traffic and street noise, a barking dog, the hissing of rain. The sounds that Oerd van Cuijlenborg recorded during his trips in and around Ho Chi Minh City (former Saigon) between 2007 and 2014, breathe life into the now sultry, now brisk colour and line patterns of this abstract animation movie. The animated material was mainly painted directly onto 16mm film, before being digitally processed, coloured and edited.
