Sacred Selfhood

Director: Evelyn Imafidon
A man in his twenties tries to adapt to his Western environment, when a spiritual encounter with his ancestors forces him to reconsider his identity. What does he take from these rituals?
Jonathan lay awake last night, fretting about an upcoming job interview. He feels a huge pressure to be successful and fit into the corporate culture. A smart suit is a must. Looking for a tie, he finds a chain in an old box. When he hesitantly picks it up, he is suddenly standing face to face with three of his ancestors. They perform a ritual for him, which initially frightens him. But, in this debut film, they eventually leave him behind with a new sense of self-acceptance and clarity.
