The young Iranian woman Roya is arrested for dancing – and still she keeps doing it. As a consolation, but also as an act of hope, connection and resistance.
Roya’s life is abruptly interrupted when she is arrested for something every human being has a right to: the freedom to move. The women’s prison confronts her with the harsh reality of oppression. But she finds comfort with her fellow inmate Parastu, with whom she bonds by sharing moments of sorrow and hope. Their inner dialogue consists of poetry, and by continuing to dance, Roya surmounts the limitations of her cell. Short drama about the human power to never surrender and always fight for freedom.
