Romeo en Julia

Moving portrait of the elderly Turkish couple Emine and Cemal, director Gülsah Dogan's aunt and uncle. They have saved for years to be able to travel and enjoy the years after retirement, but all their dreams are shattered when Emine comes down with Alzheimer's disease. Her husband does everything to take care of her as well as possible. He simply sees it as his duty, after she gave him five children and was there for him for 48 years. The woman deserves all respect and love, he says with conviction. The love between the couple has not diminished a bit. Jointly, they stroll and swim, just to keep moving. Although it takes a bigger toll from the old textile worker than a day at the factory, he forces himself to learn to prepare her complicated pastry dishes: he misses them dearly. But she only has to smile once and he has forgotten all his sorrow.
