Rock 'n Roll Junkie

Director: Ton van der Lee, Eugène van den Bosch, Jan Eilander, Frenk van der Sterre
Musical docu-drama about the remarkable life of rock phenomenon, artist, poet and actor Herman Brood.
Musical docu-drama about the remarkable life of rock phenomenon, artist, poet and actor Herman Brood. The makers followed Herman Brood, the rock star they idolised in their youth, for a year and spoke to key figures in his life. Exuberant shots from the shoulder and tightly framed interviews illustrate different sides of Brood's character. Rock 'n Roll Junkie is a portrait of a loner and a poser who would just love to be filmed all the time, a jail-bird and loving father, an egoist, on the side of tramps and junkies, a romantic and a frequenter of whores. A man who has dedicated his life to sex, drugs & rock 'n roll, the only real Dutch Rock 'n Roll Junkie.
