Based on the director’s personal dreams and experiences as a Syrian refugee, this short animation explores the human condition in places where suffering, war and death are a day-to-day reality.
With the help of symbolism and intuitive narrative structures, this graduation film takes the viewer through the complexity of human existence– particularly in the Middle East, where war and violence are the order of the day. “Based on my dreams and personal experiences as a Syrian refugee, the film also refers to the 2013 massacre at Al-Tadamon, where soldiers who were loyal to the Syrian regime executed 41 people”, the director explains. Animation that uses an absurdist narrative style to paint an emotional picture of human suffering and the quest for meaning.
