Rem

Director: Tomas Koolhaas
Son Tomas made this documentary about his famous father Rem Koolhaas, his philosophy and the views that users of his architecture have on his iconic designs.

Documentary about the philosophy and architecture of Rem Koolhaas, viewed from his own perspective and that of the people using his designs. For four years, his son Tomas followed his globetrotting father and occupants of his architecture, including the couple living in Villa dall’Ava in Paris, but also the homeless people who consider the public library of Seattle their home. On the voice-over, Rem shares his vision on architecture, beauty, functionality, art and life in general. It provides viewers with an insight as to how ideas come to fruition in a reality of concrete and metal.
