During the Covid lockdown, documentary filmmakers Peter Lataster and Petra Lataster-Czisch are enthralled by everything that is near. Pandemic or not, the delimited world of backyard, neighbours and themselves keeps on turning and brings joy and comfort, in this award-winning film.
When the Covid pandemic reached the Netherlands in February 2020, documentary filmmakers Peter Lataster and Petra Lataster-Czisch decided to focus on their delimited world at home. Armed with a camera, they capture not only the birds and plants in their backyard, but also the neighbours and themselves. Enthralled by the beauty surrounding them, they feel heartened to accept the jumble around them: the threat of the virus, the effects of climate change and the death of a dear friend. Awarded Best Dutch Documentary at IDFA 2022.
