Being female and being free don’t go hand in hand in Iran. While an Iranian women’s rights activist tells about this oppression and the struggle and strength of women who say no, this feeling is visualised in a surprising way.
An Iranian woman explains off-screen what it is like to be a woman in her country. "As if I can’t move. Kind of a nightmare." Where everything benefits men, she stands up for women’s rights. An unorthodox performance represents the feeling of women who say 'no'. From the struggle with a suffocating sheath to a candle as a symbol of hope. She is proud of the power of these rebels. It is not easy to have to put up a constant fight.
