Five-part drama series about the most controversial plane accident of last century. El Al Flight 1862 was world news, but was also forgotten. Not by everyone, though. Two journalists launch a six-year investigation in search of the facts.
When on 4 October 1992 an El Al Boeing 747 crashes on the Bijlmermeer, the Netherlands is suddenly world news. The alleged cause is a safety pen that slipped out of one of the engines. Fortunately, it was a cargo plane transporting perfume, flowers and computer parts, The Hague claims. The black box can’t be located. In the months that follow, residents, relief workers and pets fall ill. What did the plane really contain? This drama series, that unfolds like a reality-based thriller, shows how two journalists sink their teeth into an investigation that leads to the much-discussed parliamentary inquiry in 1998.
